There is nothing more important than the first impression during an interview process. It is a key opportunity to demonstrate your capacity to perform. Make every minute of your interview count.

Common FAQs

Q: When is it appropriate for candidates to bring up salary and benefits? How is this subject best approached during the interview?

A: If the interviewer does not provide a benefits and compensation overview, it is best to wait until the end of the second interview.  A good way to approach the subject is to ask about the salary range, and if there is information on benefits that you could review. Wait until an offer has been made before beginning any negotiations.

Q: If you're running late for an interview, is it better to reschedule or go to the interview late?

A: Of course the best plan is to scope out where you are going and leave ample time for travel. However, if you are late, call the interviewer and provide a reason for the delays. Apologize for the inconvenience and ask the interviewer if it would be better to reschedule.

Q: Is It necessary to reconfirm an interview?

A: It is always a courtesy to confirm interviews. That goes for both the interviewer and interviewee, but it is not necessary.

Q: What’s the best way to decline an offer?

A: It is best to decline with a courteous phone call, verses an email or letter.

Q: Is it necessary for a candidate to give a reason why they're turning down an offer?

A: No, it isn't necessary, but it is a courtesy.
